off the top of y head and based on what I've read, a D70 is well worth it, even from a D100. A D2H is now cheap too. With lots of Nikon glass the options are quite good. Even a Kodak SLR/n is a good buy.....

Below is what I think to your three case scenario:
Case 1: According to the USCIS's rule of last action, whichever petition or application came out last is your new non-immigrant status. So if your H1b transfer gets approved first and then your H-1B -> F1 gets approved, you are in F-1, or vice versa. But then if your first H1B has already expired before you turn in your F-1 application, it gets a little complicated. In that case, the F-1 application cannot be approved before the H1B transfer is approved.
case 2: If your first H1B is still valid, then it is ok if your H1B transfer is denied. If your first H1B is expired already before your submit your F-1 application, and your H1B transfer gets denied, you could be out of status.
case 3: If your H1B transfer is approved, and F-1 application is denied, you are still in H1B.
There is an article discussing authorized stay and authorized status which relates to your questions: Differences Between “Authorized Status” and “Authorized Stay” (http://www.us-immigrationvisa.com/article/differences-between-authorized-status-and-authorized-stay)

Chris,
The first picture isn't as good as the others, because it's too dark in the face. You need to wait for the light to hit their face some, and then snap. Harder to do, than to recommend, really.
Can't really comment on the others.
[And by no means saying I would have come up with anything as good or better].

I am currently working for Company-A, holding a H1B till 30/09/2012 (approx 1 yr/5 months time left), with the approved I140 and labor (Priority date EB2 Oct 2008).
Now I am thinking to move to other company (Company-B) and the new company is ready to transfer my H1B and start green card processing after 3 months.I had following questions
Q1>Can I move from my present employer to new employer?
If yes will I get New H1B valid till 30/09/2012 or for three more years based on existing approved I140.
Q2>My old employer should not revoke my I140 till my new Labor and I140 get approved with the new employer? (Most likely my old employer (Company A) is going to revoke the I140 once I leave the company). So will that be any problem for me?
Specifically problem in following scenarios,
a. Porting my priority date for future GC application (Company-B) with revoked old 140(From Company-A).
b. If i am going to get extension only till 30/09/2012 and
if my new GC doesnt clear new 140 stage by then ( which is highly possible looking at current market conditions and the timeframe when my labor is going to get applied (Easily 8-9 months from now)) Can i get 3 years extension at that stage using revoked 140 from company-A?
I feel very jittery about whether to make this move or not. Looking my existing priority date I assume it is easily going to take another 2/3 years to get green card in existing job.
Please reply this post as it will help me alot

Hello Gurus,
Can we use an Existing Adv. parole Document that was stamped at the POE this year be used Again for Travel Purpose. It has a Valid date and expires in September '08. I am planning to visit europe next week and i couldn't find the 2nd AP Document that was never used.
Please comment!
Yes you can.
I specifically asked this question to the IO at POE. He said I should use the already stamped one not the new one. Please make sure to carry extra copies.

You must have I94 showing H1B classification and validity dates to change status to H1. You can travel and re-enter with a H1 visa stamp and obtain h1 status. Please check with the company attorney,
