First thing is you need to renew your passport.
Old passport will be given back.
Also if your passport is not having more than 6 months validity, US Consulate may not stamp your visa and also there could be problem with your travel. (This is my opinion)

Why would you bather about your new H1B ,if you plan to leave this country.
Put all your luggage in cargo to india and forget about your luggage and go .. visit whatever country you want.
Are you planning to come to USA after 6 months or what?

Guys,
AILF is seeking plantiffs. Please show some spine & courage. If your employment history and everything on your green card file is clean, volunteer for becoming plantiff. I have a gap in employment otherwise I would have surely volunteered.

I should have elaborated this more. I read that ppl applying for H1B stamping were asked about this. They were actually issued 221 G and were asked to furnish extra documents and this was one of them.
I have no clue what is this and if this applies to everyone. I even found that ppl were asked to furnish notarized list of employees along with tax returns of the company. I hope this is not valid for every case.

My employer will not withdraw my I-140. Should I still go ahead with AC21 or should I just do change of address with USCIS?
I will be starting my new job pretty soon. Any useful suggestions appreciated.
Thanks!
Samcam
First, its a very very wrong assumption that your employer will not withdraw I-140. Sometimes even if they don't want to, to comply with govt. regulations they gotta do it.
I would suggest not to get into a situation where you have to invoke AC21 till clouds are clear.
Please do visit: http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=22182
Also, don't forget to mail.

My company has applied for my H1 extension 3 months in advance of the current expiring H1 under regular processing
1. Does the 240 day rule apply AFTER the expiry of the current H1 OR 240 days from the date you apply for the H extension. I hope its not the latter coz I could have told my employer to apply closer to the expiry instead of 3 months in advance.
2. Will the 240 day rule apply even if I reentered on AP instead of H1B visa.

I came across this forum a couple of days back and decided to do start on what I can do best. I may be somewhat naive in my thinking, but it is better to take initiative and make mistakes instead of waiting. Please do give your honest feedback and opinion.
Forums are designed for discussion, however we need to also focus on implementation. For that, we need to put the right communication tools in place to disseminate information, such as wikis, egroups, and calendars.
We need a somewhat structured organization of ideas, discussions, questions, projects and other things. This will allow us to handle more people gracefully (scale), allow people who have volunteered time to work on projects, allow discussions for those who want to discuss.
I have gone ahead and done the following (I do not intend to step on anyone's toes) :
1. Registered immigrationvoice.net and used Google Apps to provide email, calendar, and docs services.
2. Installed a wiki at http://ivwiki.com
3. Google groups for NJ IV: http://groups.google.com/group/njiv
I am in the NJ area (Edison) and would like to host a meeting this weekend (or the next) to exchange ideas and come up with some concrete (next) steps to take. I have space to host up to 20 people. If you are in NJ, we should talk. Please contact me via email: inc.idler@gmail.com or join the NJ IV group at http://groups.google.com/group/njiv and respond to my post.
Best,
Idler.

You are asking a wrong question. Beware of all Desi cos. They are all the same. If you are under some compulsion to join a desi cos, then you got to do what you got to do.
I think it would be best to speak with someone who is already working for the cos and join if your friend or someone you know is already working there.
Also, get EVERYTHING in writing, I mean EVERYTHING. Do not trust desi cos just because the guy is sweet talker.

One of my minor dependents appears to have been out of status due to non renewal of their H4 visa. We thought that like the original application, dependents were covered by my renewal, found out too late that this is incorrect. Since then we have obtained renewals and the dependent in question now has an approved H-4 status, plus pending 485 and advanced parole.
I have been told though that time out of status is not counted against minors. Is this true?
Is there any risk in travelling out of the country to get visa stamped and returning? I understand this resets the clock. Can the embassy look into the history, find out that previous issue and deny the H-4 stamping because of it?
I am very discouraged by this long drawn out process. Any information would be appreciated.
PS: The minor in question just turned 14 years old. Could this be the reason?

Your assumption is not right.
Your visa must have a validity date. You can travel out without any problem as long as your travel dates are within that VISA validity date.
No problem if you are not willing to travel..and want to stay in USA. If your H1 is about to expire...then make sure it is extended.

I hadn't noticed the little white spot - you are quite right and I'll zap it.
This version of the image isn't super sharp. This is the first one I've tried to upload to this forum and I had some trouble doing it. It kept telling me that my file size was too large so I wound up having to reduce the quality a fair bit to get it uploaded within the file size allowed.
It is actually hardly cropped at all. The original is quite a bit sharper than this but then again the camera was not a DSLR but the sony F707 which is one of the first 5 megapixel cameras. I recently upgraded to an 8mp Nikon 8800 but am very disappointed with the resolution of that camera in the telephoto range. I see a Canon DSLR in the near future.

I applied for H1B and Green Card Simultaneously in 2002. My first H1B expired in 2005. I am working on EAD. My questions are--
If I decide to change jobs and apply for H1B with the new company, am I subject to the QUOTA?
If I change jobs( in similar field) to another state in another service center, how is my case transfered to TSC from NSC?
Please reply.
Hello all,
If anybody knows answer to these questions, please reply.
Sincerely

What sort of "tricks" are you after.
I think it's fair to say that "learning to use the camera itself" is the easy part. Understanding of how to take good photos is a lifetime ambition for most of us... ;-)
To put it another way, there may well be small tricks like "if you set this up, you can press that button, and you've automatically set it ready for doing X". Which is great. But if you don't know the basic things like: composition, lighting/exposure and control of focus/depth of field, which are the basic photography concepts, then you're barking up the wrong tree fishing for tricks.
So, some tricks are "rule of thirds" and "blur out un-wanted background noise". But that's regardless of the camera you use.
