Let us be very clear, we are MORE THAN WILLING to associate with any org that can be beneficial to us. One of the members of IV had established contact with USINPAC and it has been a very fruitful association
If anyone can do the same thing with any other org (could be 'Chinese Physicians Association', or 'Russians in America' or 'Canadians in USA' or even 'Americans for High Skilled Immigrants' - please note that I made up all the names, but please get the gist) please take the inititative and let us know how it goes.
Also note, that even if we associate with an org primarily working for a particular country, all our issues will benefit EVERYONE from every country. It is impossible to press for an amendment like 'Ability to file I485 without regard to visa number for Indian Nationals only'. The US Government doesn't allow that and neither will IV go in that direction.
The keywords here are 'publicity and exposure'. We really need that to protect our amendments in the Senate and the House Conference

You will not jeopardize your I-485 as long as job with company C is in same or similar occupation. Whether USCIS will grant an H-1 3 year extension based on a withdrawn/revoked I-140 is not certain. I outlined the reasons for this uncertainty in my response on the thread entitled "Facing Layoff---6 months left..."

I have a question regarding AP. I have AP's based on my pending 485. Recently i traveled to India (on a family emergency) using my AP which was issued in 20th Nov 2008 valid till 19th Nov 2009. I had no issues & got thru JFK using the same.
I was out of US from Sep 23rd thru Oct 24th 2009.
Before leaving US I applied for my AP in early Sep, which got approved by Sep 29 and was in my mail box by the time I arrived. The New pay roll has validity from 20 Nov 2009 until 19 Nov 2010.
My question is, I may need to travel to India again for couple of months that is some some time near 5 Nov 2009 & will be back by Jan 2010.
Do you guys foresee any other issues? , I herd that the AP is NOT valid if you are out of the country.

Hi,
We had been to Canada in Sep, 2003 for our Canadian residency stamping. While on our way back to San Francisco, US immigration did not stamp our passports or take back our I-94's. Prior to this trip we had been to India in March, 2003.
Now I am confused as to what should be our last date/port of entry to US? I-94's/passport stamp still indicates our March, 2003 trip and Our Canadian PR stamp does indicate date PR was stamped in Canada. But there's not other stamp/proof on passport for our entry to San Francisco.
Any pointers/suggestions?

Like will a IIO be able to look at one's receipt# and say if they have spoken to an IIO earlier that day or whenever that is?

Gentlemen,
I had a quick question with EAD I understand that I can switch job after 180 days as long as there is 50% match in job description. However my companiy's legal coordiantor send me a weird query that she cannot find the job in hard to fill category. So my question is Does the job I am applying for using my EAD has to be hard to fill as in case of H1 or the only requirement is that the job description should match 50% with the underlying LC.

I have a valid H1B Visa which is expiring on Feb 16th, 2008 and my old H1 is expiring the same day as my Visa. I applied for my H1B extension my H1 extension is pending. I am planning to go to india on Dec last week and coming back on jan 7th.
1) Can I travel without any problems/

i called my lawyer to find out if the pepers have arrived which i need to sing and get signed from my employer and return ..and she has nto recived them

Finterpring while H1 stamping is different. You need to get finterpring again when you apply for I485. They took my fingerprinting when I went for H1 stamping(though it was couple of years ago), but gave finger printing again after applying for 485.
So better you contact USCIS. Search in IV forums, I read sometime back that there are some people who didnt get fingerprinting notice.

I was going through the processing times bulletin which they normally release around 15th of every month and noticed that though date at top says (Posted: September 28, 2008 ) but before the list starts they have written
.................Service Center Processing Dates for Nebraska Service Center as of: July 31, 2008.
Now what is that, have they lost track of dates being considered as of today.............. I can understanb things might standstill for I-485 (dues of non availability of visa numbers), but what about I-140, for last few months it does not jumpout of that March shell.
Also what do they mean by as of July 31, 2008, can we not know someohow as of October 8th or September 28th, what cases are they considering .
