I am on F1 status in US, My parents are green holder..... I am also planinig to do PhD..... can i apply for green card now....?..... If yes..... on what purpose and with what requierments...?
You can not file GC based on your F1 or your parent's GC. Either you should go for family based or employment based.
Family based - your parents should have Citizenship (may you need to be under 21)
Emp based - You need to have job.
or marry US Citizen.

Where does that put us considering the house bill didn't even make it to markup today?
I thought it was E-verify and our bill with some sunset bills. Now he excluded those things and added last item which Republicans never supports. So he is making this as suicide bill . This is all about politics. See how they turned back in last minutes. Now they created a image of Immi friendly but eventually they didn't fight for us. Bob was Anti in beginning and he introduce recapture so get our support now after becoming popular among us and our friends , relatives he is officially not stopping bill but killing it.

tom friedman doesn't know about the details of this issue..... for him immigration means more h1b visa..... he doesn't have a clue @ gc mess...... there r others who have done research on this subject.... but those studies did not get as much attention.... maybe others need to come up with a shape... lets pick one.... lets say "earth is rhombus".... and then publish these reports... that might help catch some attention....

Kudos to Senator Chuck Schumer for raising the profile of a serious issue - discrimination against same-sex partners in US immigration law. Even as several states are enacting marriage equality laws and anti-discrimination laws are moving forward around the US (including here in my home town of Memphis), the antiquated Defense of Marriage Act prevents USCIS from treating these families fairly. The UAFA would be a huge step forward. The Senate will have its first hearing on the bill tomorrow. My lawyer received all the receipts for our AOS, EAS and AP applications and today I got COPIES in mail from her.
Wasn't she supposed to send me the originals and keep the copies? After all, it's my application.
I want to call her but I'm not sure what the general practice is. Did you guys get copies or the original receipts from your lawyers?

Hi,
I'm trying to schedule my visa stamping date in aug /sept time frame in India. In delhi consulate when I click on Indian resident I see the available dates but when I click on Indian citizen residing in US, I see no availability. I'm not sure which option should I choose. I'm a student working on OPT in US. My OPT will expire on Aug 4th and so I will come to India. I'm not sure which of the two options I have to choose while scheduling an interview :
Resident of India/Bhutan
OR
Indian Citizen residing in United States.
I would really appreciate any help in this matter.

Jason, agree with Kevin. I did take a quick look at your site however and I see you like to do landscapes. You have a good eye for composition. Some of the pics could benefit from some post processing in a graphics program like photoshop or paintshop pro. A few of the landscapes are heavy on the magenta or cyan scale, a few have washed out skies (there are techniques to deal with that). Best to post a pic in a thread for specific feedback or answers to questions you may have.

I need an urgent information. My visa stamping in my passport got expired, but I have valid I-797 document. I am planning to have my visa restamping in India. I came to know that with expired visa stamp we can not travel via UK and France. Can you please advice if I can travel via Frankfurt, Germany? or do I need to get a Transit Visa.
Anyone who has travelled through Germany with expired H1B visa stamp?
I have to travel within a week and I would appreciate your advice.
